Dr Cochran has been living and working in the Nashville area for over 25 years. She supervises the skilled Nurse Practitioners who work in our clinics. She has been offering TMS services since 2011 and lectures and consults nationally and internationally about TMS.
She is Board Certified and is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Cochran is in the Brentwood office on Tuesdays and Thursdays for patient care and supervision.
Practitioner Swanson-Moore and Dr. Cochran first worked together over 23 years ago while working on an inpatient psychiatric unit. Practitioner Swanson-Moore, MSN, APRN-BC has been a Nurse Practitioner for 25 years. She treats adolescence, and adults having specialized in child and adolescent nursing. She grew up in Nashville and received her Masters Degree from Vanderbilt University and her ANCC certification in adult Psychiatric nursing enabling her to treat all age ranges. Susan loves encouraging others and has a holistic approach believing the mind, body and spirit are all inclusive.
Mary, a PMHNP- BC, is ANCC Board Certified as an Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill with a BSN, and worked for more than 20 years as a registered nurse in general medicine, surgery, hospice care and psychiatry before returning to graduate school at Vanderbilt in 2006 to obtain a master’s degree in psychiatric nursing.
She has worked in varied roles including community mental health, long term residential substance use treatment center for women and their children, and college mental health at Vanderbilt University.
Lauren Valencia, LCSW received her Masters of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee College and started with our office in 2013 as a therapist and TMS Coordinator and is the current TMS supervisor. She has been invited to speak at the Clinical TMS Society Annual Meeting in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 and at the PULSES workshop in 2019 (San Francisco & London). Lauren and Dr. Cochran co-wrote the Train Your Brain workbook which was adapted to the online TMSworkbook.com.
Kayla Evans joined our team as a TMS Operator in early 2019 after having been at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for many years and assisting with clinical trials. Kayla is a diligent, cautious individual who works with patients to teach them behavioral activation and CBT techiques while they are receiving TMS care.
Lauren just started with us in Jan 2020 and we are so excited to have her join our team. She is training now and will be such an asset to our TMS Operator team in the upcoming year.
Ali is a Licensed Masters of Social Worker who achived her Masters degree at University of New England after graduating from Belmont University. A native of the Nashville area, Ali has a background in addiction therapy, family work, adoption and foster, as well as trauma and DBT. Her certifications include: Eating disorder treatment, CBT-i (Cognitive Behavior Therapy for insomnia), and attachment and trauma play work.
Ali's goal for therapy is to provide a nurturing yet challenging support system, so you feel cared for and seen, while also helping you move away from the place in which you are stuck.

Chuck is our back office Administrator. An MBA from Vanderbilt University and a University of Tennessee Alum, you might get a glimpse of him in the office. He is usually tucked away in the back working on accounting, insurance and operations. He is always available to help on any issue when the front office staff is busy or unavailable. Chuck is an experienced Practice and TMS Administrator, and in 2011 was certified as a TMS Operator
Emelyn is a Nashville native, born and raised. She excelled at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where she majored in Spanish and World Business. While involved in numerous activities, she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences. Em began in our office as the TMS Coordinator in 2011, and was promoted to Clinical Practice Manager in 2013.
Whitney is a Nashville native, born & raised. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Middle Tennessee State University, where she majored in Community and Public Health, and Nutrition Sciences. Before working in this office, she was a Dietician Assistant at Vanderbilt Hospital for 3 years, and 1 year at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
