APA Meeting: Highlights from The Interventional Mix

APA Meeting:  Highlights from The Interventional Mix

The field of interventional psychiatry and neuromodulation is moving forward at a breakneck pace, and last week, the community gathered to celebrate that momentum in style. On Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, at Dirty Habit in Hotel Zelos (San Francisco, California), the APA Caucus on Neuromodulation and the Interventional Psychiatry Consortium, cohosted an event.  The evening was a dynamic blend of stimulating conversations, networking, cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres. Beyond the socializing, the event served a powerful purpose, with all proceeds being donated to the Foundation for the Advancement of Clinical TMS (FACTMS).

Honoring a Pioneer: The B.R.A.I.N. Award

A definitive highlight of the evening was the presentation of a newly created “B.R.A.I.N. Award” to Shan Siddiqi, M.D. This award acronym, Bridging Research and Academics in Interventional Neuromodulation was established to recognize and honor a clinician or researcher who has significantly advanced the frontiers of psychiatry through pioneering research, transformative medical education, or a career dedicated to both. Dr. Siddiqi’s groundbreaking work continues to reshape our understanding of brain network mapping and targeted neuromodulation, making him a deeply deserving recipient of this honor.

Behind the Scenes: Leadership and Organization

An event of this caliber requires immense dedication behind the scenes. The Chairs and medical student, and resident volunteers of the Interventional Psychiatry Consortium, (Simran Ailani, M.D. and Yaakov Green, M.D.) and the newly appointed APA Caucus on Neuromodulation Chair and Co-chair, (Ahmed Elamaadawi, M.D. and Prakayma Singal, M.D.) along with the outgoing chair (Michelle Cochran, M.D.) were all instrumental in organizing this seamless and highly successful evening.

The dedication of these leaders underscores a shared commitment to building a strong, collaborative community focused on cutting-edge mental health solutions.

Supported by the Industry’s Visionaries

The evening was also made possible through the generous support of leading industry sponsors dedicated to moving neuromodulation forward. The Visionary Sponsor for the evening was BrainsWay.  Leadership Sponsors included:  Train Your Brain: Your Record of Care with TMSNeuroStar, Magnus Medical, Johnson & Johnson, and Compass Pathways; and Supporting Sponsors were: MagVenture, LivaNova, GrayMattersHealth, and Clearwave Mental Health

Thank you to our sponsors, and everyone who attended, supported, and contributed to making The Interventional Mix an unforgettable night of celebration and purpose!
