Jesse Jean, APRN – East Nashville Location

Jesse Jean is a dual board-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who
earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science
Center in Memphis, TN. His training in both specialties supports a comprehensive approach that
considers the connection between physical health, emotional and mental well-being, and
everyday life.

After earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South College in 2021, Jesse built his
nursing career across hospital and correctional settings. At Vanderbilt University Medical Center,
Ascension Saint Thomas West, and TriStar Centennial, he cared for patients with complex
cardiovascular conditions, including heart transplant recipients and individuals requiring
ventricular assist devices. He also spent more than four years at Riverbend Maximum Security
Institution, providing medical and psychiatric nursing care. His work included assessing
psychiatric symptoms and substance withdrawal, responding to mental health crises, and
supporting patients experiencing self-harm concerns. These experiences strengthened his
commitment to compassionate care for people who often face significant barriers to treatment.
Jesse’s interest in psychiatry grew from seeing how often emotional suffering accompanies the
health challenges that bring people into care. He believes people deserve a place where they can
be honest about what they are experiencing without feeling judged or dismissed. At Synaptic
Psych, he strives to build trusting relationships, understand what matters most to each patient,
and develop evidence-based treatment plans together. His goal is to help patients feel more like
themselves and more connected to the lives they want to lead.
