Dr. Jessica Merritt is proud to make Nashville her home. Dr. Merritt completed both her undergraduate and medical school education through Marshall University before moving to Nashville in 2015 for both her adult and child/adolescent psychiatry training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). After training, she became faculty in the Vanderbilt Department of Psychiatry for four years and served in several clinical and academic roles including as the Partial Hospital Program/Intensive Outpatient Program Medical Director and Assistant Program Training Director. She is board certified in both Adult and Child & Adolescent psychiatry and received additional training through the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute in advanced psychodynamic therapy.
Dr. Merritt brings a developmental and compassionate perspective to patients across the age spectrum and loves working collaboratively with patients and families alike to meet their treatment goals. Her special interests include working with individuals with OCD, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Developmental Disorders, and Interventional Treatments like Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Spravato (Esketamine). She maintains a voluntary faculty position at VUMC Department of Psychiatry and continues to actively give back to her community through education and volunteering. Dr Merritt currently sees patients at the Belcourt location in Midtown Nashville near both Vanderbilt University and Belmont University.
