TMS for Depression & OCD

About TMS Treatment

We are leaders in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and have offered the treatment since 2011. TMS is a safe, effective, non-drug, FDA-cleared treatment that uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate the brain, helping to better regulate mood in patients with depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, and potentially other illnesses. Often, TMS is successful at helping treat depression in patients who have not been able to find relief through other methods (antidepressants and talk therapy). Learn more about TMS, and find out if it is right for you.

We wrote the book
on TMS... literally.

Our team authored the first TMS-specific workbook to help patients battling depression. As pioneers in this area, we have studied outcomes and concluded that using the workbook, along with TMS treatment improves patient outcomes. Hundreds of physicians and technicians have registered for our program. Click below to check it out.

Learn more about TMS.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an engineering marvel shown to be an effective means to stimulate the brain non-invasively. In 2008, the FDA cleared it as a safe, effective, non-medication treatment for depression following decades of rigorous clinical testing. TMS has since been FDA-cleared for additional therapeutic uses, including treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and smoking cessation, with promise for even more indications in the near future. To learn the answers to some of your most frequently asked questions about TMS, check out our TMS VIDEO - FAQ blog post.

How does TMS work?

For patients with depression, specific areas of the brain have been shown to be underactive, particularly those involved in mood regulation. TMS uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate these areas, which improves the brain's ability to regulate mood.

Is TMS right for me?

We would love for you to speak with a member of our Interventional Services Team to see if TMS might be a good fit. Please complete this screening questionnaire and a team member will reach out to you.

If you've tried other depression treatments like medication therapy without success, there is still hope. Many of our patients have tried several types of treatment methods before they finally find success with TMS.

What are the stats
on TMS therapy?

Research reports clinical TMS for depression yields 60% response and 30% remission. Hovvever, in our office, we achieve much higher results. In fact, more than 70% of our patients reach remission from depression and more than 85% respond to treatment. We're able to optimize outcomes through the use of clinically-proven modalities, including combining TMS with cognitive behavioral therapy and behavioral activation techniques from the Train Your Brain Workbook.

Physician Recommended.
Patient Preferred.

Dr. Cochran at The Neuroscience and TMS center has served as my psychiatric care physician for the past 5 years. I have made tremendous progress while seeing her. She is attentive, thorough, and professional. I refer her to everyone I know in need of psychiatric care because I trust her and her staff completely. I am very thankful to be a patient of the Neuroscience and TMS center.

This hands down is the BEST doctor’s office I've ever been to. Not just on a psychiatric level, but just a medical setting in general. I love Dr. Becker and I'm beyond grateful that I found him. He is very personable and just one of the easiest people to talk to. And the front desk is great too and that goes a long way! So yes, 5 stars! I recommend this to anyone who needs to find a good and relaxed environment for psychiatry.

-MM
